A series of fronts will have big implications on our weather as we head through the final week of October! These systems will not only impact our rain coverage, but will also impact the temperature and the eventual path of Hurricane Melissa.
While we’re not expecting the extreme rainfall totals seen in parts of north Lake and north Brevard Sunday night, localized flooding is still possible, and a Flood Watch remains in effect until 8 p.m. Highs will reach the mid-80s, with “feels like” temperatures in the mid-90s in some spots.
The USS Nimitz is returning to its home port in Naval Base Kitsap in Washington state after having been deployed to the Middle East for most of the summer as part of the U.S. response to attacks by Yemen’s Houthi rebels on commercial shipping. The carrier is on its final deployment before decommissioning.
