As Americans ready themselves for fireworks and festivities, they should anticipate some stores and services may not operate on their normal schedules.

There are plenty of permitted fireworks displays across the state: There will be over 70 fireworks displays in Massachusetts from July 1 to 5. Over $2 billion is spent on fireworks every year for both private and public displays, according to data since 2021 from the American Pyrotechnics Association.
