No. 10 Vanderbilt beat No. 15 Missouri in what was a very entertaining, yet strange game. Both defenses dominated the first half with the score being knotted up a 3-3 at the halftime break. It was certainly not what anyone was expecting,
Diego Pavia dove across the goal line for a 1-yard touchdown with 1:52 left as No. 10 Vanderbilt beat 15th-ranked Missouri 17-10 Saturday to extend the Commodores’ best start in more than 80 years.
Freshman Matt Zollers got his first taste of being the guy for Mizzou, going 14-for-23 for 138 yards despite entering late in the game. The Tigers ended the game on the 1-yard line, inches away from a game-tying score.
According to SP+, the Tigers grade out as the eighth-best team in the country, boasting the 11th-best offense and No. 20-ranked defense. This may be arguably the biggest game in Vanderbilt history. A win over Missouri puts Vanderbilt in a good position for a CFP spot. Yes, if Diego Pavia can get Vandy past the Tigers, the Commodores should be considered a CFP team.
The New York Giants had scouts spread out over the country this weekend, including at Missouri vs. Vanderbilt.
Diego Pavia led Vanderbilt football to a 17-10 win over Missouri, but unlike last week against LSU, that win primarily came due to defense rather than Pavia's performance. It was ugly for the offense all around, which put up just 265 yards, 80 of which came on one rushing play that didn't involve Pavia.
Vanderbilt's top-15 showdown with Missouri got its first touchdown of the game on a scintillating 80-yard TD run from Makhilyn Young.
