Oxford Center CEO and employees face charges over the death of a 5-year-old boy in a hyperbaric chamber incident.

Tamela Peterson allegedly shared CCTV photos of 5-year-old Thomas Cooper from the fire and included disturbing text messages that were critical of the child.

According to court documents, Peterson sent still photos of Cooper, from the CCTV footage, burning inside of the chamber. Along with the images, she allegedly texted, “If my leg was on fire, I would at least try to hit it and put it out.

Troy police say Tamela Peterson ran away when asked for her cellphone after Thomas Cooper died in a hyperbaric chamber fire at the Oxford Center.

Tamela Peterson, owner and founder of the Oxford Center, was given a $2 million bond. Three other employees also charged.

Prosecutors said a safety manager at the Oxford Center conducted “his own experiments” on a hyperbaric chamber to prove to employees it was safe prior to a deadly explosion that killed a 5-year-old boy.
