Raspberry Pi enthusiasts and tinkerers can now update the camera used in their DIY projects with the newly unveiled Camera Module 3 accessory.

In more technical terms, the AI Camera is based on a Sony image sensor (the IMX500) paired with a RP2040, Raspberry Pi’s own microcontroller chip with on-chip SRAM.

If confirmed, this would be the largest camera module contract ever and would make Samsung Electro-Mechanics the largest supplier of camera modules for Tesla.
