Part of George Washington Memorial Parkway closes for anticipated winter weather
Starting at midnight on Tuesday, the northern section of the George Washington Memorial Parkway, from I-495 to Spout Run, will be closed until further notice. The closure is a precautionary measure due to the severe winter weather expected in the area.
The bill’s sponsor says there’s been a lack of federal presence on the road. It would let local and state police enforce traffic laws.
