There were headlines about the next Xbox console this week, but the biggest news out of Microsoft's gaming division actually concerned a competitor's platform.
PlayStation is getting its first ever Halo game in the form of the newly unveiled Halo: Campaign Evolved - a remake of the landmark first shooter in the series, also coming to Xbox and PC - and it sounds like the era of exclusivity is over for Master Chief.

Microsoft is taking one of its most popular and recognisable game series to a rival console for the first time.
One of Microsoft's best-known exclusives is making the jump to a rival console.
Rather than create a new Halo game, Microsoft will resurrect and modernize the original. On Friday, the company’s Xbox team announced it’s preparing a "full remake of the Halo: Combat Evolved campaign.
"It's really a new era—Halo is on PlayStation going forward," Halo Studios community director Brian Jarrard said on a livestream today. This isn't just a one-off for the series: it's the final bit of proof that even the most precious jewels in Microsoft's crown will be available anywhere and everywhere in the future.

"We've added new lines to Guilty Spark, which guide players through the level, and there's new dialogue that gives more insight into the narrative as it plays out," creative director Max Szlagor added. "We're not changing the stories, it's about refining and adding context to this moment, and other levels like it, so players can stay on track."
Halo: Campaign Evolved doesn't include multiplayer, and I asked the developers at Halo Studios why that's the case.
Looks like the Master Chief is going to get another chance to… finish the fight (that’s a Halo thing), because Variety is reporting that Paramount+ has renewed its Halo TV show for a second season ahead of the video game adaptation’s premiere.
