Ladders can be intimidating if you're not experienced with them, and while ladders do come with some risk, they're much safer than climbing on counters or wobbly furniture to get the height you want.

In Animal Crossing: New Horizons, you can use a ladder to climb cliffs. When you are against the cliff, hold the ladder, place it next to the cliff face, and then you can climb it to reach the top.
