The First Alert Weather Team is tracking a warm & breezy start to the weekend, which will give way to storms Sunday afternoon.

Friday's warmth gives way to severe storms overnight, then the usual up-and-down temperatures of early spring in the Chicago area in our First Alert Forecast.

Saturday’s setup is shaping up to be a particularly dangerous situation. Increased instability (how quickly the air rises) and wind shear (how the air changes in wind direction and speed with height) will lead to the risk of severe storms capable of producing tornadoes.
