WINSTON, SALEM, N.C. (AP) — A bomb cyclone over North Carolina forced NASCAR to push its preseason exhibition to Wednesday night because the snow-covered roads are too dangerous for teams and fans to get to historic Bowman-Gray Stadium.
On Sunday, February 1, NASCAR announced it was once again postponing The Clash because of continued weather-related conditions. All events will now be run on Wednesday, February 4 at Bowman Gray Stadium.
The Cook Out Clash is scheduled for Feb. 1 at Bowman Gray Stadium in North Carolina. However, the weather forecast may have other ideas.
To avoid complications, NASCAR rescheduled the weekend plans and shifted Saturday's events to a one-day show on Sunday, February 1. However, veteran driver Kenny Wallace believes 6-8 inches of snow will be tough to clear before the Clash. He instead called for the event to be postponed to a later date.
