Google's official monopoly on search, browser, and advertising is probably going to end. That's a good thing, not just for Google's corporate competition, but users like you and me.

Among the DOJ's suggestions was that Google be forced to sell off Chrome and be banned from re-entering the browser market for five years. Unsurprisingly, Google didn't much care for this plan, and they're now trying their luck with the Trump administration.

As part of the antitrust case filed more than four years ago, the Justice Department wants Google to divest its Chrome browser.
