Snow in the Poconos won't be melting any time soon, as more bitterly cold temperatures and dangerous wind chills are expected.
Ahead of the snow, a cold weather advisory has been issued for the Poconos from 7 p.m. Jan. 23 to 10 a.m. Jan. 24. Pike and Wayne counties could see wind chills as low as -25, while Carbon and Monroe may get as low as -20.

The National Weather Service has issued a cold weather advisory for an area including the Poconos. Carbon, Monroe, Pike and Wayne counties will be under the advisory from 7 p.m. Jan. 23 to 10 a.m. Jan. 24. Wind chills as cold as -20 are expected in Carbon and Monroe counties, while Pike and Wayne could experience wind chills as low as -25.
Temperatures will rapidly fall from the low 30s Friday to single digits or below zero by Saturday morning, with west-northwest winds gusting 25-35 mph before a significant winter storm arrives Saturday night.
