Britain's Emma Raducanu is out of the Abu Dhabi Open after losing in straight sets to former Wimbledon champion Marketa Vondrousova in the first round.

Emma Raducanu has crashed out of the Abu Dhabi Open in the first round after Marketa Vondrousova beat the British star 6-3 6-4 on Tuesday. The result means Raducanu has suffered back-to-back first-round defeats on the WTA Tour after her early exit at the Singapore Open last week.

Entering the match, Raducanu and Vondrousova faced off twice, and their head-to-head is currently tied 1-1. Raducanu picked up her win in the Round of 64 at Wimbledon in 2021 before Vondrousova won the Billie Jean King Cup match in 2022.

Emma Raducanu will play in a qualifying draw for the first time since her fairytale run to the 2021 US Open title.
