A storm system is expected to rapidly strengthen off the coast of the mid-Atlantic and produce significant snowfall and gusty winds from the Carolinas to the Northeast.
Up to a foot of snow is expected across several states due to the winter storm, with ice accumulating farther south.
The major storm is set to hit starting on Jan. 23 and will stretch into the weekend, spreading snow and ice from the southern Plains to the Northeast.
