CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Virginia Tech football’s 2026 schedule was officially announced Monday night on ACC Network and is highlighted by a nine-game Atlantic Coast Conference slate that features nationally prominent matchups and multiple Friday night contests.
Virginia Tech introduced James Franklin as its new head coach in November, and now bettors can wager on how successful a Year 1 he will have. While Franklin gets a fresh start in 2026, his coaching career outlook looked less than favorable just two months ago.
Virginia Tech Hokies defensive tackle Kemari Copeland will return to Blacksburg for his final season with the program after earning Third-Team All-ACC honors in 2025. The 6-foot-3, 283-pound lineman started all 12 games last season, logged 471 snaps, and totaled 47 tackles, 4.5 sacks, and 7.5 tackles for loss.
UVA has two previously announced neutral-site contests this season. The Cavaliers will open in Week 0 against NC State on Aug. 29 as part of the inaugural College Football Brasil. Virginia will also face West Virginia on Sept. 19 at Bank of America Stadium (Charlotte, N.C.) in a rematch of the 2002 Continental Tire Bowl.
