Virginia Absentee Voting: For absentee voting, you can use the Virginia Department of Elections' citizen portal or reach out to your voter registrar’s office directly to request an absentee ballot.
Any registered voter can request an absentee ballot in person, by mail, online (Citizen Portal), or by contacting the general registrar’s office in that voter’s jurisdiction, according to VDOE.
Voters will select candidates for the Virginia General Assembly, attorney general, lieutenant governor and other leadership positions during a June 17 primary.
To register and request an absentee ballot you need a Federal Post Card Application (FPCA). See state registration and voting procedures at the Federal Voting Assistance Program website.
