Wednesday afternoon's advisory from the weather service called for continued arctic cold for the region and the potential for at least three inches of snow Sunday into Sunday night, much of it across the twin forks of Long Island. It said the storm could also bring winds at least 45 mph winds.
The tri-state area could get sucker-punched by a second winter storm this weekend, according to PIX11 meteorologists. The storm is expected to develop into a nor’easter, which could cause flooding and beach erosion in New York and New Jersey.

Right now, the highest chance of accumulating snow is east of Atlanta. From west Georgia through the city, at least flurries and scattered snow showers are possible. Severe Weather Team 2 is watching the track closely though. Any shift west means a better chance for accumulating snow.
