Ford Motor is leading the industry in recalls and filed another one this week. The automaker said it will take a $570 million charge in Q2 earnings.
Ford is recalling nearly 694,721 examples of 2020-2022 Escape and 2021-2024 Bronco Sport models. The recall report cites a fuel injector that was equipped on 1.5-liter-powered Bronco Sport and Escape crossovers that could crack and cause a fire. The recall report says that only 0.3% of vehicles is affected by this defect.
Jaguar Land Rover North America, LLC (Jaguar) is recalling certain 2021–2025 Range Rover Evoque vehicles. The passenger air bag may tear during deployment.
Ford’s stock turned lower after the carmaker said it would cost nearly $600,000 to fix fuel injectors on up to nearly 700,000 SUVs.
