在扫地机器人导航技术的关键转型期，iRobot坚持传统的视觉导航路线，对激光雷达技术的崛起反应迟钝。视觉导航受光线影响大、定位精度低，iRobot的产品频繁出现漏扫、卡困、碰撞家具等问题，用户体验差。

扫地机器人，最早是美国人做出来炫技的，高端、前卫、科技感满满；结果兜兜转转三十多年，现在把它做得最猛、卖得最火、玩得最溜的，成了中国公司。 早期并不是想扫地，而是冲着特种机器人去的。9·11之后，他们拿着PackBot钻进世贸大楼废墟帮忙搜救；福岛核泄漏那会儿，也少不了这家公司派上场。

最终的结果，外界已经看到了——重组方案里，Picea拿下iRobot全部股权，公司从纳斯达克退市，原有股东清零退出，iRobot彻底变成一家未上市的私营公司，而Picea则从代工厂变成了“接管人”。
