Some service has been restored but delays persist after a CTA Green Line train derailment, which happened at a "high elevation" about 2:40 a.m. near 63rd and Halsted streets, where one of the train's wheels left the track,

The situation had Green Line service suspended between the Garfield and Ashland and 63rd stations. Service was restored later Monday morning, the CTA said. Fire crews used a ladder to get 16 people safely off the stopped train one-by-one. The train itself is on an elevated track about 30 feet up.
