Law enforcement had ordered protests to break up at about 5 p.m., and then began moving in a few minutes later. The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office was asked to aid USF police with the arrests.

Also signed into law by DeSantis this week was House Bill 479, which allows the court to order a driver convicted of leaving the scene of a crash to pay restitution to the other driver.
