New Delhi: The BJP has achieved a significant victory in the Milkipur by-election in Uttar Pradesh. BJP candidate Chandrabhan Paswan won by more than 60,000 votes. Meanwhile, Samajwadi Party’s Ajit Prasad remained behind from the start.

While Paswan polled over 1.46 lakh votes, his nearest rival Samajwadi Party's Ajit Prasad garnered 84,687 votes. Prasad, who had earlier said he was confident of a win for his son, later accused the BJP government of misusing official machinery.

Results for the by-elections in Uttar Pradesh's Milkipur and Tamil Nadu's Erode East constituencies will be declared today, alongside the Delhi assembly election results.
