K ULA (HawaiiNewsNow) - Maui Police have identified the driver killed in a single-car crash Saturday night in Kula as 21-year-old Hilalia Villanueva-Langi. Villanueva-Langi passed away after a single-vehicle crash in the Kula area on Saturday. The crash happened at around 5:15 p.m. on Holopuni Road, about 340 feet east of Pulehu Road.
The woman was driving a 2019 white Nissan Sentra westbound in the 8900 block of U.S. 90 West when she crashed around 7 p.m. She was driving “at a high rate of speed when she lost control and struck the barrier,” a preliminary police report said. The woman was seriously injured, and died at the hospital, SAPD said.
