A tornado struck a TV station while the weatherman was doing a live broadcast showing the terrifying moment the system closed in. FOX 35 meteorologist Brooks Garner kept remarkably calm as an EF-2 tornado approached and hit the station in Lake Mary, Florida, on Monday morning.

The tornado, later given an EF2 rating by the National Weather Service, was believed to have peak wind gusts to 115 mph, equivalent to a Category 3 hurricane.

This is a very rare event,” FOX 35 Orlando Meteorologist Brooks Garner said Monday morning. “We were able to confirm the tornado as it hit our station.”
