Tiger sharks are one of the largest shark species. On average, they measure 10 to 14 feet and weigh 850 to 1,400 pounds. But they can be as long as 20 to 25 feet and weigh more than 1,900 pounds.

In what is thought to be the first encounter of its kind to be witnessed by scientists, a tiger shark has been spotted vomiting up a dead echidna whole off the coast of an Australian island.

Tiger sharks can measure nearly 15 feet and often prey on turtles. The apex predators are considered dangerous and have been implicated in several attacks on humans.
