Multiple schools in north Chicago suburbs were closed Friday after a "significant" water main break led to issues across the area, leaving residents under a boil order and many experiencing low water pressure or no water supply at all.

A boil water notice that was issued for several islands in Casco Bay, including Peaks, after a water main break on Little Diamond Island was lifted Thursday morning. The Water District issued a release saying tests showed the tap water was now safe to drink without first boiling it.

Phill, the escaped water buffalo from Pleasant Hill, was rushed to the Iowa State University Large Animal Hospital on Thursday, but died overnight.
