WVTM 13 meteorologists are tracking a severe weather outbreak in Alabama Saturday with the chance of tornadoes, hail, damaging winds and tornadoes.

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. ( WBRC) - Storm crews with Alabama Power are working to restore service after severe weather impacted thousands of customers in central Alabama. As of midnight Sunday, Alabama Power says over 13,000* customers are still affected.

At least 18 people are dead after severe weather hit parts of Missouri, Texas and Arkansas overnight, officials said. Eleven storm-related fatalities were reported in the Missouri counties of Ozark, Butler,

The watch, which had been anticipated, is in effect until 3 a.m. on Sunday and its issuance comes as a large area of deadly and dangerous weather moves across Alabama.
