FootballTransfers understands that Mikel Arteta is pushing hard for Andrea Berta to sign Athletic Club winger Nico Williams.We are told that Arsenal's manager has made it clear to the incoming sporting director that he ought to focus on securing complete buy-in from Williams as his first order of business.

Williams is also understood to have a release clause in his Athletic contract that could reach up to €80m (£67.5m), so both Arsenal and Liverpool could pursue a cheaper alternative, especially as they are also likely to be in the market for new number nines.
