An American influencer has caught the ire of Australia after she was filmed snatching a baby wombat from its mother.

A video of the online influencer snatching the joey from the side of its mother drew calls for her to be deported. She left the country Friday.

Sam Jones — a self-described “outdoor enthusiast & hunter” from Montana — had sparked a firestorm by posting a video of herself carrying a baby wombat away from its mother.
