2 dead, 3 wounded as gunman opens fire on Kentucky churchgoers after shooting state trooper at airport
Christine Combs, 34, and Beverly Gumm, 72, were killed Sunday after a gunman opened fire on churchgoers at the Richmond Road Baptist Church in Lexington, the Lexington Police Department said. Both women were members of the church, while two male congregants were also wounded – one critically, according to cops.
Kentucky State Police has identified the trooper hurt in Sunday’s violent string of events that left two women dead.
The trooper has worked with Kentucky State Police since 2022 and previously worked for the Versailles Police Department.
