Maurene Comey, the federal prosecutor who handled the criminal cases against Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell, was fired today from the United States Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York by the Justice Department, according to ABC News. The reason for Comey’s firing was not immediately clear.
