Iowa Hawkeyes football authored a perfect revenge script and took its foot off the gas late in a resounding rivalry win over Minnesota.
The Minnesota Golden Gophers (5-2, 3-1) visit the Iowa Hawkeyes (5-2, 3-1) for a Big Ten showdown in college football Week 9 on Saturday as these teams battle for the Floyd of Rosedale trophy. Both teams are riding two-game winning streaks after defeating in-conference competition.
The Iowa defense played a nearly flawless game Saturday against Minnesota. In a 41-3 win, the Hawkeyes held the Golden Gophers to just 133 yards of total offense and forced three interceptions, including a pick-six by Zach Lutmer in the first quarter.
Iowa’s offense is not a juggernaut. But it's in a much better place under coordinator Tim Lester than it was before he arrived.
