A man is dead after crashing his car into a canal following a chase with Kenner police. Investigators say it started at 2:30 a.m. Friday after a patrol officer saw a gold Honda Pilot driving aggressively on Airline Highway. The Kenner Police Department believes the driver was involved in a dispute or possible road rage involving another vehicle.
Authorities say a driver is dead after crashing into a canal bank during a police pursuit in Kenner early Friday morning. Investigators have not yet identified the driver. The chase began about 2:30 a.m. when a Kenner police officer saw a gold Honda Pilot SUV driving "aggressively" in the 2200 block Airline Drive, authorities said.
As News Center 7 previously reported, an armed robbery led to a police chase that crossed a county line and ended in a crash on Interstate 75 Thursday morning. A spokesperson for Dayton Police said it stemmed from a robbery complaint on Five Oaks Avenue, where a person’s vehicle was taken at gunpoint before 10 a.m.
Six people were arrested after a police chase stemming from an incident in which a courier was robbed of $70,000 in Cicero, officials said.
According to police, Ware took the man's keys and left in the Honda Accord. Officers spotted the Honda just after 1 p.m. Thursday on I-240. MPD said Ware raced away at speeds over 100 mph when officers tried to pull him over.
