The Alabama Sports Writers Association today named its 24 finalists for girls basketball class Player of the Year. The top three in each of eight classes are eligible for class Player of the Year while Miss Basketball is chosen from the eight players of the year.

Hornell is among three schools representing Section V at Hudson Valley Community College in Troy for the state championships.
