Isabel M. Rodriguez, 18, died later from the gunshot wounds at Sunnyside Hospital. The mom of a young boy was a Sunnyside native and worked in a restaurant, according to a funeral home death notice.

A woman has been taken to hospital in a critical condition following a serious assault in a Christchurch park. Police and paramedics were called to the scene shortly after 9am on Wednesday.
