News of this Steam port comes not long after Valve released TF2's source code, potentially opening the door for more extensive mods in the future.

In the announcement Valve said developers would be able to release their mods on Steam, and so it's happening ... and built onto it with full-size updates in homage to TF2's timeless style and tone.

After an eventful 2024 (by fan standards), Valve unexpectedly gifted Team Fortress 2 players with a great present: not just an update, but a full set of developer tools for this popular shooter.
