(KCTV) - Park University President Shane Smeed is leaving the University, according to an announcement from the school. Smeed is leaving to become the next president at Utah Tech University.

The incident, which reportedly occurred at approximately 3:22 p.m. in the Big Bend area of the park, prompted the closure of the Zion Canyon Scenic Drive road north of Canyon Junction.
