Newsom confirms he may run for president in 2028
California Governor Gavin Newsom has offered the most definitive response yet on his plans for a potential run for the White House in 2028.
There's been much speculation as to what's next for Newsom, who can't run again for California governor due to term limits.
"I’d just be lying. And I’m not... I can’t do that," he told Robert Costa during this week's "CBS Sunday Morning."

The White House accused California Gov. Gavin Newsom of distorting facts after he blamed the Trump administration for highway delays due to the Marine Corps anniversary celebration.
The monitoring — like in New Jersey, another heavily Democratic state — came amid requests from state Republican Party officials, and Gavin Newsom, California’s Democratic governor, called it an act of voter intimidation and suppression.
