A magnitude 7.6 earthquake rocked the western Caribbean on Saturday night, prompting a tsunami advisory for Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

While the tsunami warnings were issued for U.S. territories Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands, there is no threat to the U.S. Atlantic or Gulf Coast.

A 7.5-magnitude earthquake in the Caribbean Sea has placed Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands under a tsunami advisory.

No tsunami waves have been reported as of yet but estimates have been forecasted by the National Weather Service's Tsunami Alert division for when potential waves could reach islands in the region including Puerto Rico and the U.

An earthquake with a magnitude of 7.6 has occurred 129 miles southwest of Georgetown, Cayman Islands, according to the USGS.
