The U.S. and Israel have reached out to officials of three East African governments to discuss using their territories as potential destinations to move Palestinians from the Gaza Strip.

Israeli officials led by strategic affairs minister Ron Dermer have sounded out the governments of Somalia and Sudan, countries wracked by civil war, while US diplomats have been in contact with the breakaway province of Somaliland,

Somaliland has not received any proposal from the United States or Israel to resettle Palestinians from Gaza, the foreign minister of Somalia's breakaway region said on Friday. The Associated Press quoted U.
