I got and email stating I am out of storage space. I go to "clean up" my space and delete old files, backups, etc. but I cannot find the files.

hopefully someone of you could give me a hint or solution for the following problem: since days I get information about my out-of-space running Dropbox. At least I have a 21,75GB Box, but only ~800MB of data in it. I am housekeeping them regulary and so I'm a little confused about this space problem.

Permanently deleting files after they have already been deleted doesn't free any more space in your Dropbox. You can find out more info about this here. The disk space usage as reported on the device is accurate and correct (2GB in my case) I'm not aware of myself or my husband using Selective Sync or Online Only, so I'm not sure why the files are not synced on my device

With no recent changes, I am getting an alert that I am out of storage space (22GB). Previously I was at less than half. I checked the size of all the folders and files (on the web client) and the largest folder is 2GB and a few with around 800MB, but it's not possible they add up to 22GB.

Finally, please remember that permanently removing already deleted files doesn't free up storage as deleted files and folders don't take up space in your account. Out of space even after deleting files I have deleted so many files and folders and my storage space has not changed. In searching I've noticed this issue stems back about 8 years but there seems to be so much confusion around it.
