I think we could all do with a break from spooky, scary, Halloween stories and one of my favourite places to go for a break is the Isle of Bute! The main town is Rothesay and when yoo visit, you can't miss the incredible Rothesay Castle! Surrounded by a moat and smack bang in the middle of town, Rothesay was one of the first stone castles in Scotland, likely built in the early 1200s by Walter the High Steward to defend against the encroaching Norwegians.
