I headed down to the Salt Marsh Lakes a few days ago to look for the young Glossy Ibis (Plegadis falcinellus) that’s been hanging around recently. It’s still in mostly brown juvenile plumage, but you can see the first hints of that trademark iridescence starting to come through. They’re still unusual visitors in our area, so it’s been brilliant having one settle in. Fingers crossed we get to see more of them turning up in future.
