A recent sunny day at Bunny Meadows wasn’t so tranquil for this ill-fated crab 🦀 Ranger Tony spotted the curlew using its sensitive, down-curved bill to probe seaweed, mud and shallow water for invertebrates. Once it's found its prey, it deftly snips off each leg before swallowing the de-legged body in one go. You can then see it begin to pick out all the snipped legs that have dropped into the shallow water – it doesn't want to waste even a tiny morsel. We love the sounds of wigeons and curlew
