On 1 November 2025, ICA officers at Woodlands Checkpoint foiled an attempt to smuggle duty-unpaid cigarettes via a Malaysia-registered car, driven by a lone 38-year-old Malaysian man, into Singapore. ICA officers directed the driver for enhanced checks and uncovered duty-unpaid cigarettes hidden in various compartments of the car. More than 250 cartons and over 1,500 loose packets of duty-unpaid cigarettes were found. The case was referred to the Singapore Customs for further investigations. As
