Professor David Baker’s work in computational protein design sounds a bit like science fiction, but it’s anything but. Through the use of artificial intelligence, Baker and his lab are creating proteins that will help tackle some of the greatest challenges in medicine, technology and sustainability. Earlier today, Professor Baker, UW Medicine, became the eighth Nobel laureate in University of Washington history when he received the Nobel Prize in chemistry. | University of Washington
